Members of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan plan to direct investments toward a number of major projects in 2026, according to the newspaper Neutral Turkmenistan, published Tuesday.
In Ashgabat, plans call for construction of two-story shopping centers in the Gurtly residential area and retail and service complexes in Parahat-7. In the Ak Bugday etrap of the Ahal velayat, construction of a multipurpose textile manufacturing plant is set to begin on an 11-hectare site.
In the agro-industrial sector, priorities include establishing new livestock and poultry farms, expanding greenhouse operations, and developing fruit orchards and vegetable plantations using water-saving technologies.
The Program for the Socioeconomic Development of Turkmenistan and Investments in 2026 is aimed at dynamic growth of small and medium-sized businesses. The private sector’s share of gross domestic product is expected to reach 72.9%, excluding enterprises in the fuel and energy complex.
The report said the country also plans to create 5,245 new jobs in 2026 through construction of new facilities and modernization of existing production capacities across various sectors.
