A shipment of 8 metric tons of Turkmen tomatoes has been delivered to the Chechen Republic of the Russian Federation for the first time and cleared for sale following phytosanitary inspection, Russia’s Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision said Wednesday.

The shipment was inspected on April 14, 2026, by specialists from the North Caucasus Interregional Directorate of Rosselkhoznadzor at a customs control zone. Laboratory testing found no quarantine pests.

The import was accompanied by phytosanitary certificates issued by the exporting country.

In 2025, exports of Turkmen tomatoes to Kyrgyzstan increased by 9%.
