President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov on Saturday attended festive events held at the Akhal-Teke Equestrian Sports Complex in Ashgabat on the occasion of Akhal-Teke Horse Day, the Watan Habarlary news program reported.
A ceremony was held at the complex to unveil a monument to the renowned Akhal-Teke horse Pyýada, a stallion that left a notable mark on Turkmen horse breeding and won multiple international beauty contests.

The head of state reviewed exhibition displays presented by Arkadag and Ashgabat, as well as the country’s regions. The exhibits featured works by artists, sculptors, carpet weavers and jewelers depicting Akhal-Teke horses, along with pieces of fine and decorative and applied arts, horse equipment and photographs.
During the celebrations, horses were presented to Berdimuhamedov on behalf of labor collectives of Arkadag and Ashgabat, the regions, as well as members of the military, law enforcement agencies, and horse breeders of Turkmenistan.
The venue then hosted the final stage of the annual international beauty contest among Akhal-Teke horses.
At the conclusion of the events, the winner of the international beauty contest among Akhal-Teke horses, along with winners of a creative competition, received valuable prizes and cash awards.
