A workshop for spinning camel wool and goat down with subsequent production of wool yarn was commissioned on Thursday at the Bayramali Textile Complex named after Great Saparmurat Turkmenbashi, according to Turkmen official media on Friday.

Guests from various parts of the region attended the opening ceremony. The event also featured cultural performances, with local artistic groups presenting concerts, including songs, modern dances, and theatrical performances.

According to the report, the new workshop is the first and only facility in the region specializing in the spinning of camel wool and goat down. Its annual production capacity is designed at 130 tons of wool yarn.

The installed equipment is intended for the production of both dyed and undyed yarn in Nm 8–Nm 27 counts, made from camel wool and goat down for cashmere fabric production, as well as for export in two- and three-ply winding formats.

The machinery was supplied by the leading Italian company Gomatex and enables the production of high-quality yarn. The camel and goat wool yarn will be used in the manufacturing of products such as sweaters, scarves, gloves, shawls, and jackets.
