Uganda is interested in studying Turkmenistan’s experience in natural gas production following talks between a delegation of the Democratic Party of Turkmenistan and the leadership of Uganda’s ruling party.

According to a statement released Wednesday by Uganda’s ruling party, the visit by the Turkmen delegation carries particular significance as Turkmenistan is among the countries with the world’s largest natural gas reserves.

During the meeting, the two sides also discussed prospects for expanding political and economic cooperation.

The talks are expected to lay the groundwork for closer bilateral engagement through the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the two parties, the statement said.
