The Turkmen people are widely celebrating the 145th anniversary of the country’s capital, Ashgabat, as well as the Last Bell holiday.
President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov warmly congratulated the Turkmen people on Ashgabat City Day, the Last Bell holiday and the successful completion of the 2025-2026 academic year, official media of Turkmenistan reported Monday.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov said substantial investments are being directed into Ashgabat to transform it into one of the world’s most beautiful cities. The president noted that programs aimed at ensuring a prosperous future and improving living conditions are being successfully implemented in the white-marble capital, where advanced architectural practices and engineering solutions are combined with national traditions of architecture.
In his congratulatory address, the head of state called on graduates to follow the motto of the National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov — “The state is for the people” — as well as the principles “Motherland is a Motherland only with its People” and “State – for people!.” Serdar Berdimuhamedov said young people should continue expanding their knowledge, strive for productive work and confidently move toward a great future.
Various events, musical celebrations and conferences marking Ashgabat’s 145th anniversary and the Last Bell holiday are taking place in the Turkmen capital, the city of Arkadag, and throughout all regions of the country.
