Turkmenistan Launches 2026 Grain Harvest Campaign
Elders in Turkmenistan symbolically launch the 2026 grain harvest campaign in wheat fields in one of the country’s regions, June 3, 2026.

Turkmenistan has launched its 2026 grain harvest, a key stage of the agricultural season, state media reported on Wednesday.

Ceremonial events marking the start of the harvest were held in the Ahal, Lebap, and Mary provinces, with the participation of officials, agricultural workers, and community elders.

As part of the ceremonies, elders symbolically launched the harvest and offered prayers for a successful season and the country’s prosperity. Authorities said a rich wheat crop has been grown across the regions this year.

Modern agricultural machinery and logistics infrastructure have been deployed for the harvest, including repair teams and grain quality control laboratories.

The development of the agro-industrial sector remains a priority of Turkmenistan’s state policy, focused on modernizing agriculture, introducing digital technologies, and strengthening food security.

The decision to begin the harvest was previously approved by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov at a Cabinet of Ministers meeting.
