Representatives of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea discussed expanding cooperation in the textile industry during a technical seminar held on June 9 in Ashgabat. The event was organized by the Ministry of Textile Industry of Turkmenistan together with the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, according to nCa on Wednesday.
The seminar brought together representatives of government bodies, industry companies, and expert communities from both countries. Participants emphasized the importance of deepening technological cooperation and introducing innovation into Turkmen textile production.
Ambassador of the Republic of Korea Lee Won-jae noted the steady development of bilateral cooperation and linked it to the expansion of economic ties, including prospects for high-level political exchanges. He also highlighted the importance of joint industrial projects being implemented in Turkmenistan.

Particular attention during the seminar was given to the introduction of modern technologies, including functional fabrics with improved properties, as well as the development of supply chains and increasing product competitiveness. Korean experts presented experience from the textile sector and research institutes, including KITECH.
Another key topic of discussion was the use of digital technologies and artificial intelligence in fashion design, including the possibility of creating collections incorporating Turkmen ornaments and modern fashion trends.
Following the meeting, the sides confirmed their interest in further developing the partnership, exchanging experience, and expanding direct contacts between relevant enterprises of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea.
