Turkmenistan has proposed supplying textile products, food products, light industry goods, and leather items to the Iraqi market. The proposal was made during a videoconference held between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kirkuk, Republic of Iraq, on Monday. The meeting was also attended by Iraq’s Chargé d’Affaires ad interim in Turkmenistan Jassim Mohammed Al-Attar.

The Turkmen side expressed readiness to supply relevant products to the Iraqi market and invited Iraqi partners to participate in the international exhibition “Development of the Construction, Industrial, Chemical and Energy Sectors of Turkmenistan”, which will be held in Ashgabat. The press service of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan reported this on Tuesday.

In turn, Iraqi representatives highlighted the strategic and industrial importance of Kirkuk in the region and expressed interest in welcoming a delegation of Turkmen entrepreneurs in the future, as well as in creating new platforms for cooperation.

During the talks, the sides discussed the development of business ties, expanding opportunities for the private sector, and increasing bilateral trade turnover.
