The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met with Head of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Representative Office in Turkmenistan Eric Livny, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reported on Thursday.

During the talks, the parties reviewed the current state of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the EBRD and exchanged views on promising areas for further collaboration. They also discussed issues related to supporting economic growth, expanding investment opportunities and implementing joint projects across various sectors of the economy.

The parties reaffirmed their mutual interest in further developing cooperation aimed at supporting economic reforms, attracting investment, and implementing strategically important projects.

Founded in 1991 by 40 countries and two international organizations, the EBRD currently operates in 34 countries. The bank has been active in Turkmenistan since 1992.
