Construction of a 102-kilometer section of the TAPI gas pipeline in Afghanistan has been completed, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Afghanistan Khoja Ovezov said during a meeting with Afghanistan's Minister of Mines and Petroleum Hedayatullah Badri, TOLOnews reported.
During the meeting, the Turkmen ambassador discussed the implementation of the TAPI project and reviewed its latest progress. Ovezov said construction of the pipeline is advancing successfully and that the remaining sections would be completed within the established timeline.
Minister of Mines and Petroleum of Afghanistan reaffirmed Afghanistan's readiness to provide the necessary legal support to facilitate the implementation of the TAPI gas pipeline project.
The 153-kilometer Serhetabat-Herat gas pipeline forms part of the Afghan section of the TAPI project. Construction of this section was scheduled for completion by the end of 2026, reported earlier.
