President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov on Saturday signed a decree at a Cabinet of Ministers meeting authorizing the state concern Turkmengaz to conclude a contract with Germany's Vietz GmbH for the purchase of technical equipment, Turkmen state media reported.
According to the decree, Turkmengaz will sign the contract with Vietz GmbH to procure the required volume of technical equipment for enterprises and institutions under the state concern's management.
Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Guvanch Agajanov reported on efforts to modernize the material and technical base of enterprises and institutions operated by Turkmengaz. According to the report, the modernization supports the reliable supply of Turkmen natural gas to domestic consumers and export markets. It also highlighted the importance of expanding cooperation with a relevant company from Germany.
After hearing the report, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov stressed the importance of continuing Turkmengaz's efforts to increase natural gas production. He signed the corresponding decree and instructed the Deputy prime minister to carry out the necessary work in this direction.
