Shepherds at the Koytendag livestock farm have recorded the birth of 8,030 lambs, the Türkmen gündogary newspaper reported on Thursday.
According to the report, the farm is meeting its production targets for lambing as well as meat and wool output. Among the top-performing shepherds are Rahmatulla Dospolatov, Oral Narkulov and Nureddin Berdyev, each recording 100–105 lambs per 100 breeding ewes annually.
The farm is also preparing livestock for the winter season. More than 890 metric tons of fodder are planned for storage this year, with 340 metric tons of straw and roughage already collected. Several machinery operators are involved in the fodder harvesting campaign.
The farm's sheep population has reached 20,817, divided into 46 flocks. According to Bori Nartajiyev, head of the livestock department, efforts to ensure sufficient winter feed for the animals are ongoing.
