Turkmenistan has amended and expanded mandatory requirements for the equipment and location of temporary storage warehouses, according to an order registered by the Ministry of Justice of Turkmenistan on July 20, 2026.
Under the updated rules, open-type warehouses used for customs control of goods must be equipped with operational X-ray television inspection systems.
The changes also allow customs authorities to require automated goods accounting systems capable of operating with customs software, integration of warehouse accounting systems with the information system of the State Customs Service, or remote access for customs officials to the warehouse accounting system. Customs authorities may also require dedicated communication channels with sufficient capacity for transmitting electronic data related to the delivery and customs clearance of goods.
Additional requirements were introduced for video surveillance systems monitoring warehouse territory and the placement, storage and release of goods. The updated rules require video recordings to be stored for at least 60 calendar days, and the surveillance system must remain continuously operational and be connected to the video surveillance system of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan
