A seminar for customs officials and other government representatives involved in strategic trade controls is being held in Ashgabat on August 11-13, the Delegation of the European Union to Turkmenistan reported.
The seminar is organized under the EUP2P program on export controls for dual-use goods for countries in Central Asia and the Middle East and North Africa, Project 105. The project is implemented by Germany’s Federal Office for Economic Affairs and Export Control (BAFA).
According to the Embassy of Germany in Turkmenistan, Peggy Berndt, Germany’s chargé d’affaires in Turkmenistan opened the seminar.
The event aims to strengthen officials’ technical capacity to effectively profile, identify and classify strategic goods and materials passing through customs clearance points.
