Turkmenistan’s private Gyrawlysuw company has launched serial production of locally manufactured refrigerators under the LORS brand, becoming one of the first enterprises in the country to develop this segment of the household appliance market, according to the newspaper Turkmenistan.
A production building covering 0.78 hectares was constructed last September in the settlement of Peshanaly city in Mary district. The facility currently produces seven models of refrigerators designed for shops, institutions and private households.
According to Arslan Gujumov, head of the company’s production department, the facility uses digital equipment purchased from China and Iran. Most of the approximately 10 specialists employed by the company completed training in the countries supplying the technology to learn how to operate the production lines.
The refrigerators are available in different sizes and colors and feature either glass or solid doors. The products are manufactured in accordance with international standards.
Although the company continues to import some chemical raw materials, key materials, including polypropylene for the refrigerator bodies and insulating foam, are purchased from Turkmen manufacturers. According to Gujumov, this helps reduce production costs and allows the company to offer more affordable prices. The company provides wholesale buyers with a three-year warranty on its products.
The company plans to expand its range of refrigerator models and create new jobs in the near future, with these efforts timed to coincide with the upcoming 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence. In the longer term, Gyrawlysuw is considering entering foreign markets for refrigeration equipment.
