Construction is underway in Turkmenistan on housing for 568 households to improve living conditions and boost the motivation of workers employed in various sectors of the economy, including the oil and gas industry, Turkmen state media reported.

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Guwanch Agajanov reported on efforts to further improve living conditions for oil and gas industry workers during Friday’s regular Cabinet meeting, held via a digital system.

According to the report, large-scale work is underway in Ashgabat and Arkadag cities and the regions to build fully equipped housing for workers in various sectors of the economy. In this regard, a modern residential complex for 720 households of oil and gas industry workers is planned to be built in Mary. The first phase includes eight four-story residential buildings designed for a total of 256 households.

In addition, relevant work is underway on the construction of 10 four-story buildings designed for a total of 240 households in Balkanabat and a modern 12-story residential building with 72 apartments in Turkmenbashi.

After hearing the report, the President stressed the importance of continuing work to build comfortable, fully equipped housing for workers in the oil and gas industry and approved the prepared proposals and instructed the Deputy Prime minister to carry out the relevant work.
