Turkmenistan Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov held talks Oct. 7 in the Avaza National Tourist Zone with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Belarusian Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov. The meetings took place on the sidelines of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers meeting in the Avaza National Tourist Zone.
During talks with Lavrov, the sides discussed the state and prospects of bilateral relations, the development of cultural, humanitarian and educational ties, as well as the activities of the Russian-Turkmen Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported.
According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, the sides discussed cooperation within the CIS, the dialogue among Caspian states and the Russia-Central Asia format. Following the talks, Meredov and Lavrov signed Cooperation Programme between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation for 2027–2028.

During the meeting with Ryzhenkov, the sides discussed the state and prospects of Turkmen-Belarusian relations, as well as current areas of bilateral cooperation, the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reported. Particular attention was paid to political dialogue, interagency contacts, trade and economic cooperation, and cultural and humanitarian ties.
Following the meeting, a signing ceremony was held for the Cooperation Programme between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus for 2027–2028. The document provides for further development of interagency cooperation.
