The Turkmendemiryollary agency (Turkmen Railways) launched an online ticket sales service for passengers, according to the official website of the agency.
Passengers are now able to purchase tickets for domestic trains without leaving their homes through the official website or its mobile application for Android platforms and iOS, which is still in development.
Tickets are paid through the Altyn Asyr national payment system.
The entire history of e-ticket purchases and travels is stored in the app. If necessary, e-tickets can be shown to the conductor via mobile phones.
For the convenience of all residents of Turkmenistan and tourists visiting the country, the developers also plan to translate the application into Russian and English languages.
The residents of Ashgabat have also been able to buy tickets at the offices of the Turkmenpochta postal service company in Ashgabat since the beginning of the year.
