A telephone conversation took place between Vladimir Putin and President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the press service of Kremlin reported Monday.
Both sides confirmed their intention to further strengthen the Turkmen-Russian strategic partnership. The issues of further development of trade and economic cooperation and interregional relations, and the upcoming visit of the President of Turkmenistan to Tatarstan were discussed during the conversation.
Given the current Chairmanship of Turkmenistan in the Commonwealth of Independent States for 2019, the Heads of the two states also exchanged views on some aspects of interaction within this organization.
During the conversation, preparations for the first Caspian Economic Forum, which will be held on August 12, 2019 in Avaza, were also discussed.
