President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov plans visit to Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan to hold talks on cooperation in trade-economic, cultural and tourism spheres.
After the meeting between President of Tatarstan and trade representatives of the Russian Federation abroad, the official representative of the Kazan Kremlin Lilia Galimova said that the next visit of Minnikhanov to Turkmenistan is scheduled for August. He will participate in the first Caspian Economic Forum.
According to Galimova, the trade turnover between Tatarstan and Turkmenistan is around $24 million, excluding KAMAZ contract. Recently, Turkmenistan and KAMAZ signed agreement for supplying 2,000 KAMAZ vehicles worth $162.7 million.
The Tatar president’s next visit to Turkmenistan will be the third meeting between the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in 2019 alone. The last meeting between the two presidents was in June in Kazan during the Sabantuy summer festival. Minnikhanov visited Ashgabat in April on the Turkmen Horse Day.
