Ýakyn Dost, a private Turkmen company, started to produce fruit compotes in glass bottles under the trademark “Garaja”. The assortment is quite diverse: quince, strawberry, cherry, pear, apricot, plum, and apple.
Serdar Ashirov, manager of the plant based in the city of Kerki in Lebap velayat, says that their products are in high demand all over Turkmenistan. Local entrepreneurs and farming associations supply raw materials to the company from their plants where fruit picking usually starts in May and ends in December.
Ýakyn Dost economic society also produces seven types of jam as well as four types of pickles: cucumbers, tomatoes, cabbage, assorted. Its factory has been equipped with modern processing machines made in Turkey.
"We are striving to further expand the product range. We plan to start producing lecho and canned tomatoes," says Ashirov. "None of our products contain dyes, preservatives, or GMO. They are in high demand, so this is success for us. We are currently planning to export our products to Russia, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan".
The new plant of the company opened in September last year.
