The complex of sewing and shoe factories of Magtymguly city of the Balkan velayat exceeded the plan in the first six months of the year.
Workers of the complex, owned by the Ministry of Textile Industry of Turkmenistan, produced shoe and garment products worth 7 million 984 thousand manats. This figure indicates a 190% fulfillment of the plan.
In January-June, 12,870 pairs of shoes were produced at the complex while the seamstresses sewed 254,133 garments and knitwear.
At an extended meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers held on July 5, Vice-Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Mammethan Chakiyev said that the growth rate of the textile industry of Turkmenistan was 153%.
