Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation hosted a meeting on the development of transport and logistics cooperation between Turkmenistan and Russia on Monday, the press service of the ministry reports.
The meeting in Moscow was attended by representatives of transport departments, sea ports, logistics and leasing companies, as well as trade representatives of the two countries. The sides discussed issues of cooperation between logistics companies, as well as creating conditions for increasing bilateral and transit traffic in the Caspian region using the infrastructure of both countries.
The meeting also touched upon the development of a ferry service between Turkmenbashi and Makhachkala.
The parties outlined specific ways for the restoration and development of the maritime traffic, in particular, the ferry, railway, and in the future - automobile.
