Turkmen President Appoints New Head of Turkmenbashi Oil Refinery
The complex employs more than 3,5 thousand people on a 450 hectares of land.

Batyr Amanov, who previously served as Deputy Chairman of the Turkmengas State Concern, was appointed Director General of the Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries (TCOR).

The President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed the corresponding decree during the meeting with top oil and gas officials on Monday.

During the meeting, the Head of State noted that the efficiency of the TCOR remains low. He also pointed out that the Director General Yazmurat Muhammetmyradov was reprimanded before for such shortcomings and yet he has not made necessary efforts to resolve the issue. Therefore, the President dismissed him from his position for serious shortcomings in his work.

Batyr Amanov, the new head of the TCOR, served as Deputy Chairman of the Turkmengas State Concern since January 3, 2018.

Commissioned in 1943, TCOR has undergone major renovation in 2008. The complex employs more than 3,5 thousand people on 450 hectares of land.

Today, the plant produces gasoline, aviation and technical kerosene, jet and diesel fuel, fuel oil, lubricating oil, polypropylene, heating oil, gasoil, petroleum coke, liquefied natural gas, construction and road bitumen and other petrochemical products, which are sold via the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan.
