Turkmenistan’s Mary velayat and Iran’s Razavi Khorasan province cooperate effectively in trade-economic sphere.
The statement was made during the meeting between Turkmen officials and newly appointed Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Mary city Rasoul Jafari at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the ministry said in a press release issued on Thursday.
Rasoul Jafari expressed gratitude to the Turkmen side for warm wishes on the appointment as the Consul-General of Iran in Mary and noted the significance of this region in strengthening the cultural-humanitarian dialogue between the two partner countries.
During the meeting, the parties noted the high level of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Iran. The diplomats discussed the political, trade-economic and humanitarian component of bilateral ties, the document said.
Memorandum of Understanding on trade-economic, scientific-technical and cultural cooperation between the hyakimliks of Mary velayat and Razavi Khorasan province was signed during the state visit of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hassan Rouhani in march 2015.
