Turkmen students comprise the biggest group of foreign students in the Belarus, Trend reports referring to Belstat. Last year, 7,700 citizens of Turkmenistan studied at the universities of Belarus.
In the ranking of migration to Belarus, citizens of Turkmenistan have taken the second place after Russia, trend reports. In 2018, 4,001 people moved from this country to Belarus.
The mutual trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Belarus, according to the report, amounted to $65 million in 2017, and to $32.2 million in 2018.
Belarus supplies Turkmenistan mainly with trucks, special purpose vehicles, tractors, road-building equipment, medicines, woodworking products, and agricultural products.
An intergovernmental agreement on trade and economic cooperation between the two countries was signed in 2014.
