New UK Ambassador Takes Office in Turkmenistan

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Turkmenistan Hugh Stanley Philpott who presented his credentials to the Head of the State.

During the Thursday meeting, the diplomat conveyed the greetings of the Queen Elisabeth II and Prime Minister Boris Johnson who confirmed the intent of Great Britain to develop friendly relations with Turkmenistan.

The diplomat assured that he would comprehensively support further development of Turkmen – British dialog, traditionally friendly relations between two states and nations, as well as expansion of bilateral economic and business contacts.

Prior his assignment to Turkmenistan, Hugh Stanley Philpott served as the UK Ambassador in Tajikistan. Before that, his temporary assignments include Charge d’Affaires in Astana and Crisis Manager and resilience Deputy Head of Mission in Kyiv. He also served in FCO and Department for Business, Innovation and Skills as Head of Science & Innovation Network and Deputy Head of International Science & Innovation Unit.BUSINE
