In a telephone conversation on Sunday, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov congratulated President of Russia Vladimir Putin on his birthday and wished him good health, happiness and prosperity, as well as new successes in all endeavors for the benefit of the people of the friendly country.
The leaders of the two countries noted with satisfaction the invariably friendly, constructive and trusting nature of interstate relations.
The President of Turkmenistan noted that constructive relations based on the principles of good neighborliness and mutual understanding are becoming more and more dynamic, and emphasized that personal attention and the full support of the Russian leader plays a special role in successful bilateral cooperation.
During the conversation, Presidents Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Vladimir Putin exchanged views on the activities of the joint Intergovernmental Turkmen-Russian Commission for Economic Cooperation, which is designed to develop new promising areas of cooperation. The sides highlighted strategic energy sector of the countries’ economies, transport, and a number of other industries as the key vectors of cooperation.
Turkmen and Russian Leaders then focused on the agenda of the upcoming meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State, which will be held in Ashgabat this week under the chairmanship of Turkmenistan.
