The production of fiberglass fittings (composite reinforcement materials) is established in Turkmenistan for the first.
The fittings, which are produced by Kompozitenergo and Elektroulgamgurluşyk enterprises with special production method, are used in the manufacture of concrete supports for power lines, according to the “Türkmenistan: Altyn Asyr” news agency.
Türkmenenergo-gurluşyk Concern’s Buzmeyin Reinforced Concrete factory produced the first batch of concrete supports made of the new material for electricity networks.
The factory in Buzmeyin etrap uses local raw materials in the production of composite fittings. Samples of the composite fittings have been successfully tested at the Research Institute of Earthquake-Resistant Structures.
Kompozitenergo enterprise plans to increase the annual production capacity of the factory from current 170 tons to 500 tons. For this purpose, the owner of the enterprise, Elektroulgamgurluşyk, invested in the purchase of specialized equipment and furnaces. In the future, the enterprise plans to increase the annual production capacity to up to 2500 tons.
The fiberglass fittings, which possess dielectric properties, are much more durable than metal ones. The operational period of fiberglass fittings are about 100 years and they are not subject to corrosion.
