Central Asian Top Diplomats Attend International Conference in Rome
The conference gathered the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, Deputy Foreign Ministers of Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan.

The international conference entitled "Italy and Central Asia: Strengthening Mutual Understanding, Cooperation and Partnership" took place in the capital of Italy, Rome, the Turkmen Foreign Ministry said in a press release on December 13.

The conference gathered the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, Deputy Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan. Turkmenistan was represented by the Deputy Foreign Minister Vepa Hajiyev.

The representatives of the European Union (EU), European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the World Bank also attended the international forum.

The participants of the meeting examined key areas of cooperation among Central Asian countries, where there is huge potential for development on a mutually beneficial basis.

In his speech, the Turkmen diplomat focused the attention of the audience on the fact that Italy is one of the largest partners of Turkmenistan among the countries of the European Union and this conference in this context marks a new stage in the cooperation of Central Asian states with the Italian Republic, which offers great opportunities for establishing a systemic dialogue in the most important areas of the regional and international agenda.
