Turkmen Foreign Minister Meets With Ambassadors of Iran and Israel
Ambassador of Iran voiced his hopes for further strengthening of bilateral ties between Turkmenistan and Iran.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov held separate meetings on Thursday with the Ambassadors of Iran and Israel.

After presenting the copies of his credentials, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Turkmenistan expressed gratitude to the Turkmen side for the congratulations upon his appointment to the high diplomatic post and voiced his hopes for further strengthening of bilateral ties between the two neighboring states.

The diplomats discussed the key aspects of Turkmen-Iranian cooperation, including the transport-transit sphere and the cultural-humanitarian collaboration between the regions of the two neighboring states.

The parties also noted the significance of the current year in view of the celebration of the 25th anniversary of Neutrality of Turkmenistan and the role of the Turkmen government in sustaining peace, stability and economic growth in the region.

During a separate meeting on the same day with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Israel to Turkmenistan Moshi Kamhi whose diplomatic mission in Turkmenistan has completed, Turkmen Foreign Minister expressed gratitude to the Ambassador for effective work during his mission and vast input into strengthening of Turkmen-Israeli cooperation.

In turn, Israeli diplomat thanked the Turkmen side for mutually beneficial collaboration and assistance during his diplomatic mission.  

Turkmenistan has established diplomatic relations with Iran in 1992 and with Israel in 1993.
