Turkmenistan has developed a Draft Programme of Humanitarian aid for Afghanistan.

The issue of the Draft Programme for the provision of humanitarian aid by Turkmenistan in the context of the peaceful development of Afghanistan in 2020-2022 was discussed at the video conference session of the Cabinet of Ministers on January 17.

Earlier on January 14 this year, at the International Conference held in Ashgabat, the Turkmen Leader emphasized the importance of supporting reconciliation processes in Afghanistan and reaffirmed Turkmenistan’s readiness, as a neutral state and direct neighbor of Afghanistan, to provide all the necessary conditions for establishing a peaceful dialogue.

Turkmenistan provides continuous support to Afghanistan. Last year, the country donated a transformer along with related equipment to Afghanistan.

In addition, Turkmen Leader signed a decree in July 2019, according to which a number of ministries and the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan are required to donate products to Afghanistan as humanitarian aid.
