Täze Balyk Individual Enterprise, created as a result of the Marybalyk state-owned company’s privatization, regularly supplies fresh fish to consumers.
Täze Balyk was founded by the entrepreneur Guvanchmyrat Orazov in October 2018.
In 2019, the company's fishermen caught nearly 210 tons of fish. The company plans to increase the figure to 250 tons this year.
In the Hanhovuz, Saryyaz, and Dostluk water reservoirs in Mary velayat in the southeastern Turkmenistan, the fishermen catch beluga, catfish, and silver carp. The fisherman caught 13 tons of fish in January this year, instead of an average 10 tons.
Fresh fish is delivered to the enterprise’s Janly Balyk store, as well as on a contractual basis to stores of nearly 10 entrepreneurs operating in different parts of the velayat.
At the end of December last year, Täze Balyk released over 6.5 thousand tons of fry into the Hanhovuz reservoir.
In Turkmenistan, the fishing industry was privatized. There are similar privatized fishing enterprises in the country like Ak Durna in Dashoguz velayat and Myradym in Lebap velayat.
The total area of the artificial reservoirs for growing fish in Turkmenistan is 1,216 hectares. 1,100 hectares of those reservoirs are intended for the habitat of commercial fish, and the rest 116 hectares are pools for growing one-year-old fry.
