Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan hosted on Thursday the Turkmen-Afghan Business Forum.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on a number of trade and economic issues. The parties discussed opportunities of expanding the variety of imports and exports between the two countries, enhancement of investments, facilitation of trade procedures, as well as the establishment of direct contacts between the business circles.
The sides expressed intent to intensify the trade relations in the field of energy, transport and logistics, communications and industry. The attendees exchanged views on expanding the cooperation in the oil and gas field, as well as in the construction sphere. The participants then agreed to continue regular negotiations on these matters.
The business forum gathered the heads and representatives of a number of ministries and agencies of Turkmenistan, including the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as well as specialists of trade-economic sector of Afghanistan, and businesspeople.
Turkmenistan approved on February 20 a program for rendering humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan for 2020-2022.
