The Global Session titled “National Indicators and the Voluntary National Reviews on the Sustainable Development Goals” was held in the videoconference format at the UN Office in Ashgabat on Monday.
The goal of the session was the clarification of the national state priorities in the context of correlation of ongoing preparation of the Voluntary National Reviews with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
The meeting participants noted that national level consultations on the priorities of Turkmenistan’s cooperation with the UN on the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and preparation of the Voluntary National Reviews take place in the country with active participation of the UN partners, and the representatives of the government, parliament, civil society and business organizations of the country.
The representatives of the United Nations and its structural agencies working in Turkmenistan, the representatives of ministries and departments of Turkmenistan, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Finance and Economy, State Committee for Statistics, and State Committee for Television, Radio Broadcasting and Cinematography attended the session.
Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework between the Government of Turkmenistan and the United Nations for 2021-2025 was signed on March 14.
