Turkmenistan, Iran Discuss Procedures for Cross-Border Cargo Transportation
The sides aim to implement in the nearest future all the necessary measures for the provision of secure movement, from the epidemiological point of view, of transport and cargo through the Turkmen-Iranian border.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Javad Zarif exchanged views on the transportation of cargo through the Turkmen-Iranian border in a telephone conversation on Thursday.

The diplomats drew specific attention to the significance of joint actions on countering the pandemic.

At the same time, the officials underlined the need for rapid implementation of the agreements attained between the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of Iran Hassan Rouhani during a telephone conversation on Wednesday.

The foreign ministers of the two states noted the sides will implement in the nearest future all the necessary measures for the provision of high level sanitary, phytosanitary control, and veterinary inspection with the aim of secure movement, from the epidemiological point of view, of transport and cargo through the Turkmen-Iranian border.
