Turkmenistan, IOM Officials Exchange Views on International Transportation
The meeting participants discussed the key vectors of cooperation of Turkmenistan with the IOM, in the context of the IOM's global COVID-19 Response Plan.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Vepa Hajiyev held an online meeting with the Regional Coordinator of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) for Central Asia Zeynal Hajiyev on Thursday.

The meeting participants discussed the key vectors of cooperation of Turkmenistan with the IOM, in the context of joint implementation of the initiative of Turkmenistan on the provision of international transportation in emergency situations and the IOM's global COVID-19 Response Plan.

The parties particularly exchanged views on issues of migration in emergency situations.

The sides considered the ongoing and perspective projects, including the Action Plan for 2020, and underlined the significance of strengthening cooperation on countering human trafficking.

Zeynal Hajiyev, the IOM Regional Coordinator for Central Asia, oversees IOM missions in Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyzstan Republic, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

Established in 1951, the IOM consists of 173 member states and has offices in over 100 countries.
