Turkmen, Uzbek Officials Outline Necessity of Expanding Transport, Trade Cooperation
The parties noted the need to expand cooperation between the parties in the trade-economic, transport and logistics sectors in order to comprehensively support freight flows.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov on Wednesday held a video conference meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov.

During a constructive conversation, the parties noted the high level of interstate relations between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, based on the principles of traditional good neighborliness and mutual respect.

The parties discussed the progress in implementing the reached agreements and particularly noted the need to expand cooperation between the parties in the trade-economic, transport and logistics sectors in order to comprehensively support freight flows between the regional countries during this difficult period for the world community.

In this regard, the officials particularly considered issue of expanding ties in the framework of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Uzbek Commission on trade-economic, scientific-technical and cultural cooperation.

The sides also exchanged views on pressing issues of bilateral cooperation in the fields of agriculture, healthcare and education.
