Central Asian Countries, Russia Discuss Cooperation During Pandemic Period
The meeting participants exchanged views on the agenda of the upcoming third CA5 + Russia ministerial meeting.

A video conference meeting of Deputy Foreign Ministers of the Russian Federation and Central Asian countries was held on Thursday. The meeting participants exchanged views on the agenda of the upcoming third ministerial meeting in the format of CA5 + Russia.

The participants especially noted the importance of strengthening and coordinating the cooperation and efforts of the Central Asian countries and Russia, as well as the entire world community, aimed at combatting the COVID-19 pandemic.

The head of the Turkmen delegation noted the significance of regular contacts and exchange of views on regional stability and security. The official also highlighted President of Turkmenistan’s initiatives on the need for a quick and complete restoration of transport links between countries, regions, and transit corridors, and the search for new routes.

The diplomats also spoke in favor of intensifying trade-economic, transport-logistics, and regional cooperation.

The sides also exchanged views on resolving the situation in neighboring Afghanistan and ensuring solutions regarding regional stability, security and development acceptable to all participants.
