Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Yevheniy Yenin held a meeting with Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Ukraine Toyly Atayev on Tuesday, Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said in a statement. The main focus of the meeting was on trade relations between the countries.
The Deputy Minister stressed the importance of high-level political dialogue and trade and economic cooperation. The counterparts also noted the importance of intensifying cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The diplomats then discussed preparations for holding a business forum of Ukrainian and Turkmen business circles in the near future.
In this regard, Yevheniy Yenin confirmed the interest of the Ukrainian side in the participation of Ukrainian companies in the implementation of business projects in Turkmenistan, according to the statement. The Deputy Minister reaffirmed that the support of exports and balanced trade is a vital task for both sides in the context of economic downturn due to the pandemic and expressed readiness to promote contacts between business representatives in order to take Ukrainian-Turkmen trade relations to a new level.
The sides also paid special attention to the issues of cooperation between the two countries within the framework of international organizations as well as in the fields of education and culture.
