Türkmenhaly (Turkmen Carpet) State Association’s Serdar Carpet Weaving Enterprise, located in Turkmenistan’s western velayat of Balkan, produced 2.295 million manats worth of products over the past eight months, Türkmenistan newspaper reported on Saturday.
According to the report, the enterprise manufactured 2,294 square meters of carpet products, exceeding the production plan for the past eight months of this year.
The number of Turkmen carpet weaving enterprises is rapidly growing in the country. Construction of the carpet enterprises is underway in Ahal velayat’s Baherden etrap and in the city of Bayramali in Mary velayat. A new building of the Turkmen carpet weaving enterprise will start operating in Ashgabat.
Modern carpet enterprises will soon also open in Gubadag etrap of Dashoguz velayat and Halach etrap of Lebap velayat.
Türkmenhaly State Association is the main supplier of renowned Turkmen handmade pure-wool carpets from Turkmenistan to the global markets. The association’s subsidiary enterprises employ more than 5,000 carpet-weavers.
