Turkmen, Afghan Officials Mull Ways to Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation
Turkmen and Afghan officials discussed the implementation of joint projects, including the construction of the TAPI gas pipeline and the TAP power transmission line.

Head of the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov on Wednesday held online talks with the Acting Chairman of the Central Bank of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Ajmal Ahmadi, the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan said in a press release.

During the talks, the officials paid special attention to the need to strengthen and develop relations in all areas of mutually beneficial Turkmen-Afghan cooperation.

The parties also discussed the implementation of joint projects, including the construction of the TAPI gas pipeline and the TAP power transmission line, and the implementation of the Lapis Lazuli transport corridor.

On August 31, a signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding concerning Land Acquisition for the Afghan portion of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline project took place in Kabul.
