Trilateral online negotiations were held between representatives of the transport departments of Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Afghanistan, Turkmenistan’s Golden Age news outlet reported on Monday.
According to the report, during the talks, the parties discussed the implementation of the Lapis Lazuli Route Transport and Transit Corridor project, connecting Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Turkey.
The agenda of the meeting also included the optimization of the transport and logistics process, the creation of equal economic and financial conditions for all participants, the introduction of a single pricing policy for the transportation of goods along the Afghanistan-Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan route.
In addition, the sides discussed the issue of appointing a single operator from each side and establishing transit tariff rate. Transport and Logistics Center of Turkmenistan OJSC was designated as the operator from Turkmen side.
The participants agreed on steps to increase freight traffic along the Lapis Lazuli Corridor. The next such meeting is scheduled for the end of September.
