Entrepreneur Polat Kanayev plans to establish the production of powdered camel milk at his camel farm in the Geoktepe etrap of Turkmenitan’s Ahal velayat, Turkmenistan’s Golden Age news outlet reported on Sunday.
The startup for the production of the novel product has entered the implementation stage with the support of specialists from the Center of Technologies of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan. Experimental steps in this direction have yielded good results, according to the report.
The entrepreneur’s camel farm covers an area of 140 hectares. The farm includes pens for keeping animals of the Arvana breed and a workshop for the production of fermented milk products from camel milk, which began producing chal and agaran in 2017.
Along with camels, the farm also includes 110 cattle. Currently, a modern livestock complex is under construction on the farm.
Arvana camels are distinguished with their high milk yield. On average, the camel with 18 months of lactation yields 2,500 kg of milk with a fat content of 3.5-3.8%.
