Turkmen Agricultural Company Starts Harvesting Banana
Ferhar Economic Society plans to harvest 60 tons from 2,000 banana trees planted on its 1-hectare greenhouse.

Turkmenistan’s Ferhar Economic Society has recently started harvesting bananas in its greenhouse, Bereketli Toprak newspaper reported on Monday.

According to the report, the company plans to harvest 60 tons from 2,000 banana trees planted on its 1-hectare greenhouse.

Ferhar grows Grande-Nine bananas, which ripen quickly. The flowering and fruiting period is nine months. The fruits fully ripen in 2.5–3 months. Each tree yields 40-50 kilograms of tropical fruits.

The company collected about 50 tons of bananas from its greenhouse, located in the Sakarchage etrap of the country’s Mary velayat.
