Uzbekistan this year has established the export of footwear to countries such as the United States of America, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Latvia and Moldova, the Uzbekistan National News Agency (UzA) reported on Saturday.
According to the State Customs Committee of Uzbekistan, the country has exported 23.656 million pairs of shoes worth almost $28 million since the beginning of the year.
As a result, the volume of exports compared to the same period last year increased by 91%. Due to the expansion of local production, imports of footwear decreased by almost 74%.
At present, the number of countries to which footwear made in Uzbekistan is supplied has reached 12.
