Demand Grows For Turkmen Handmade Carpets, Terry Products
Foreign businesses purchased handmade carpets, dyed terry products, cotton yarn and fabric, denim for foreign currency in Turkmen State Exchange.

The total amount of transactions handmade carpets concluded in foreign currency at the auctions of the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan over the past week exceeded $47.697 million, Turkmenistan’s Golden Age news outlet reported on Sunday.

Businesses based in Russia, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Kyrgyzstan purchased handmade carpets, dyed terry products, cotton yarn and fabric, denim for foreign currency.

In addition, companies from the UAE, Turkey, and Afghanistan purchased gasoline and hydrotreated diesel fuel produced at the Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries. Businesses from the UAE and Afghanistan also purchased gasoline produced at the Seydi Oil Refinery. The UK-based businesses bought urea of Türkmenhimiýa State Concern, while Russian and Turkish companies purchased high density poly ethylene (HDPE).

Merchants from the UAE, Turkey, Pakistan, Kazakhstan and Armenia purchased cotton yarn for a total of over 25.402 million manats.

For the domestic market, domestic businesses bought trucks and cotton fiber for a total amount of over 40.019 million manats.

State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan registered a total of 69 transactions last week.
