President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov instructed to continue work on registration in the country of a new EpiVacCorona vaccine, developed in the Russian Federation, as well as preventive medicines and vaccines of other partner countries.
Turkmen President addressed relevant instruction in this regard to the Minister of Healthcare and Medical Industry Nurmuhammet Amannepesov during a government meeting on Friday.
In his report, the Minister said Turkmenistan became the first state in Central Asia to officially approve the use of Sputnik V vaccine on its territory and entered the top ten countries where it was registered. Amannepesov added that the testing of the Russian vaccine is underway in the country.
EpiVacCorona vaccine was developed by the State Research Center for Virology and Biotechnology Vector of the Russia's Federal Service for Surveillance in the Area of Protection of Consumer Rights and Human Welfare (Rospotrebnadzor).
