Erdogan Invites Turkmen President to ECO Summit

President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan sent a letter to President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, in which he highly appreciated the work of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) and invited his Turkmen counterpart to take part in the Summit of Heads of ECO member states, scheduled to take place online on March 4.

The ECO Summit will be held on the theme "Economic Cooperation in the Post-COVID-19 Period," Ashgabat-based Orient news outlet reported on Friday.

In his message, Turkish President said the summit "will provide an opportunity to discuss events in 2020 in the context of the global COVID-19 pandemic and the upcoming work on economic recovery in the post-pandemic period."

At the end of the letter, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan wished health and happiness to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and well-being and prosperity to the People of Turkmenistan.

Turkish President will pay an official visit to Turkmenistan upon the invitation of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. Within the framework of his visit, Turkmenistan will host the next Turkey-Azerbaijan-Turkmenistan summit.
